Colombo Street Hotel

Contego are providing Passive Fire Protection services in the heart of Christchurch CBD for Cook Brothers. As well as Passive Fire Advice, this project is including penetration seals, linear gaps and offering design advice and problem solving throughout the build of this 5 Storey hotel.

Langlands Hotel

Contego were selected as the preferred specialist contractor after an initial competitive tender phase. Contego's role post Tender became a Specialist Design and Build contractor for the Steel protection including Intumescent paint, Board encasement, cementitious spray. 

Through Contego’s ability to complete design, budget and all protection systems in house we have been able to deliver the client a 6 figure saving on this significant build.

Holiday Inn Queenstown

Contego have been involved with design solutions, construction monitoring & co-ordination with site, design & services trades at a micro level on site.

This $60M Hotel is due for handover in early 2020 & contains 220 hotel rooms as well as conference & commercial space.

To ensure a compliant outcome on this project Contego have established QA systems including offsite monitoring & revi.

Heritage Hotel & Apartments Dunedin

Contego have been engaged on several Heritage Hotel and Apartment developments in Dunedin & Queenstown to provide full design & build passive fire services.

Clients have benefited from early involvement with Contego providing cost saving design solutions, fully compliant design and fixed price package.

Sudima Hotel Frankton

Contego won this contract for Naylor Love after a competitive tender situation. Value was proven at tender stage and Value add has been delivered throughout the build. This project consists of three floors of hotel as well as Ground Floor retail, hospitality spaces.Contego has completed all aspects of Passive Fire Protection for this project including cavity façade, top of walls, structural penetrations, fire doors as well as services penetrations.

Contego worked tirelessly throughout this project to ensure that we maintained programme and always ensured a compliant installation. Testament to our QA process is the fact that the project has received a clean bill of health under Construction Monitoring despite its scale.

The Rydges Queenstown:

Contego were engaged by Agile consulting to complete a full scale audit of all existing passive fire treatments within this vast hotel complex. Construction had occurred in various stages throughout its life and the completeness of Passive Fire varied throughout the complex.

Contego process commenced with a Due Diligence phase whereby we completed a thorough investigation of all available information, previously consented docs, PS3’s and the like. We then completed a full audit of the complex ensure that 100% of all fire separations were inspected which was no easy feat. Upon completion Contego provided the client with a full report detailing our findings, recommendations, specifications and tender document for any future works.

Hayward College

Our core role involved treating existing & new services penetrations throughout the building which had previously been a maternity hospital & more recently a Student Hostel.

However, our role was far more involved than simply penetration treatment. Due to the tight nature of this project Logic & their consultant design team relied heavily on Contego for compliant Design solutions on the fly – there was simply no time for stopping the bus for design solutions. Contego were able to identify issues, scope out & have a compliant solution available for the project team immediately.

Knox College Student Accommodation

Logic Group have chosen to partner with Contego for this challenging fast track Student Accommodation project over the summer of 2019/ 2020. Logic have chosen Contego based on their performance on Hayward College the previous summer. Logic know & trust that Contego are the only team for the job when it comes to Passive Fire Protection.

This project will commence mid-November for a fixed handover of early February. Contego will have multiple teams working through the Christmas break & evenings through the summer to meet the deadline.
