University of Otago Dental School

Contego are working alongside Leighs on the brand-new build of the Dental School for the University of Otago. This project is a 4 Storey clinical services building and a full refurbishment of the existing Walsh building with linking atrium. This building includes Academic offices, seminar rooms, teaching spaces, dental tech labs and Dental Clinic areas. We are providing effective passive fire solutions for a multitude of differing services and offering the ability to bridge the gap of understanding of Passive fire protection between contractors and consultants as well as alternative solutions for problems unforeseen by design team.

Wakatipu High School Extension

Contego have been engaged by Ministry of Education (M.o.E) and Design & build contractor Southbase Construction for this significant extension to Wakatipu High School.

Contego’s role has been to assist with the preliminary, developed and detailed design phases. Our design input has included Steel protection, Intumescent Paint, Fire Stopping and Acoustic penetrations.

Otago Polytechnic Campus Development

Contego has been engaged by the Otago Polytechnic to provide full Passive Fire Protection services across their campus. These services have included, training maintenance staff, product supply & solution registers, audit existing buildings for Passive Fire risk, contract installation for new developments and providing design and build services for their exciting new Five storey campus building for construction in 2019.

DMHDRU Dunedin Study Building

The world renowned Dunedin Study now has a permanent home of its own with the newly completed University of Otago building. Contego were engaged to assist Aotea Electric & Main Contractor Cook Brothers on this high profile project in late 2016.

Contego Technicians Duane & Darren worked extensive hours on this project in the final week to ensure the handover of this project was a success.
